Some of you may remember me posting pictures of the 1/2 Kiger - 1/2 Appaloosa filly that was born in 2003 out of our stallion, Idaho's Running Shadow and a registered leopard Appaloosa mare. Well, my friend Lori has decided she has to sell a few of her horses... she's going through a divorce and needs to downsize her herd. She is very reluctantly parting with Shadow Dancing Gypsy. Gypsy is 5 years old, approximately 15 hands, and 1100 lbs. She is a super, super trail horse and has had some arena experience (Lori is a 4-H leader) Gypsy is very quiet and nothing, absolutely nothing bothers her on the trail. She can walk out and has about a 10 to 12 inch overstep when she's just out walking down the road. When she is on a trail she really watches where she puts her feet. If any of you are looking for a young but rock solid trail horse.... Gypsy is the right horse for you. She is asking $2000.00 but is willing to negotiate. If you are interested... please e-mail at her at l.mason86@yahoo.com As a side note -- Shadow will be gelded here in the next two weeks and Gypsy is the only one of his foals that will be offered for sale. Gypsy at 1 month old Gypsy as a 4 year old Gypsy as a 5 year old on a trail ride up to a high mountain lake in the Selkirk Crest on August 1, 2008. On the same ride to West Fork Lake. This ride was approximately 12 miles round trip and is described as a moderate to difficult ride. Lots of foot bridges, creek crossings, steep portions of trail and lots of rock. Nancy In Idaho

Wow Nancy, what a flashy mare! I have my "other mom" there in La Clede. I think I'll tell her about this mare, she may be interested. Right now she has been boarding a couple of arab mares for someone who wants them on pasture for the summer (she has beautiful pastures!) and she just wants a horse to ride. I think she might like hearing about a horse that would be more permanent though.

Hi Joan.... Gypsy's coloring is pretty unique! She's got white where her dorsal is supposed to be in most places... but every now and then she's got some dots and dashes of black where the dorsal should run!! She's something! That would be great if you told your "other mother" about her and if she would like to see Gyps in person ... she can contact me if she'd like and I'll take her for a viewing! Lori lives north of Sandpoint about 20 minutes.

Nancy, I hate you! Now you've got me thinking "Who can I sell to make room? " Gypsy sounds like the perfect horse, and I've always wanted a Kiger/App cross. I hate you. Kim

How much are you asking? I have a friend that's very into Appaloosas, and she might be interested. You're located in Idaho?

LOL Kim -- You are so funny! Didn't I just read that you adopted 2 more Kigers at the adoption in Bend??? Oh, what's one more!!!! Wouldn't that make your numbers a nice round 15? LOL! Gyps is pretty nice though! MustangsinNC - My friend Lori is the owner of Gypsy... I just posted this for her...I put the price Lori is asking and also posted Lori's e-mail in the initial ad. If your friend is interested in Gypsy...she can contact Lori for more specifics!!!! Thanks for the inquiry though! Yep we live in North Idaho.....less than 60 miles from the Canadian border! Nancy

Oh I so totally agree with all you guys on Gypsy ;D I fell for this lovely spotted Kiger when she was a filly. Who ever becomes her next owner is really getting a fabulous mare, I to wish it was me. She is a mix of two breeds I love and a mare, I perfer to keep all my riding horses mares. But I got to be realistic and I really would not be able to give her the time and attention that she deserves. I do however envy her new owner. What a great mare she has become.

How wonderful to have a horse so easy to enjoy the trail with. She's a treasure and beautiful to boot! Someone is going to be very happy with her.

Tiffany - just curious why you like all your riding horse's mares? I hear so many people prefer geldings over mares- but from my past experiences, most of my best riding horses were mares.
Sorry - dont mean to change subject Nancy. I may start a new thread on this subject. ANy luck on a home for Gypsy yet??

YAHOOO! That is great Joan! I hope it works out for everyone!!! I may have to try and "meet" your other mother one of these days....and if she ends up with Gypsy....we may all have to go "riding" together on some of Shadow's babies!! (of course...Jerry would probably be riding Shadow himself!) LOL! Well, I'd probably go riding with her even if she doesn't get Gypsy! Always looking for people to ride with! Let me know what they think!
