I was woundering how many of you clip your mustangs and who will not. I know lots of people who won't. I love to clip my girls up! my mare Ellie absolutly LOVES to be pampered and cliped, the moment i stop to adjust the blade or anything else she moves in as close to me as she can as if to say "please dont stop"! I have even done a full clip job out in the field with no halter. I clip bridle path, all wiskers, and just skim the outside rim of her ears. I also do her hair that hangs down on her hoves from the cornet band to make a really clean line around the hoof, but she is not very hairy on her legs so once she shed out there is not much hair to clip. Anyway just woundering??

I do like a small bridle path, all that hair gets in the way. I like the whiskers off for showing, and all the goat hair under the chin but not around the eyes.

I only clip the bridle path about two inches long. Sometimes I'll do the rim of the ears but never inside and don't do the legs either. If I was showing I would probably do legs and that's about it above what I would normally. The bridle path I used to never do, but on my riding horses it makes the bridle fit better. I say do what ever you want to, it's your horse and if you were showing, your presentation would be cleaner and better "outfitted." Funny that Ellie likes to be groomed like that, she sounds like a girly girl. ;D
ETA: I agree with Dianne on the "goat hair" or beard under the chin. I will clip that if showing but not in every day grooming unless I'm feeling "showy." LOL

Yes I clip a bridle path for Shiloh, under her hairy jaw and her fetlocks in the spring. She didn't like to be clipped at first, but is now getting better and better about me clipping her.

I do not show but I like my horses looking clean and well groomed as much as possible. That said I do not clip my Mustangs I like them to look like Mustangs. I braid the hair out of the way if need be like the bridle path and such. All my other domestic breed horses are clipped and kept up.

I left Sandy's feathers when we were in Sacramento, but did his muzzle and under his jaw. I also did a snippet of bridle path, but only because that chunk of mane was so long and kept tangling in his bridle as it was growing forward like his forelock. Trends right now, at least in the working horse world, are for no bridle paths.

I don't clip. I like the natural look....even on my Arabian.

Yes, Joan, in the QH world! Don't know if it's the same for the rail horses, but working horses have no bridle paths.
