Yay! Today I received my Shiloh's registration certificate from SMKR. So officially her name is Blackstones Lady Shiloh. I sent the application in on July 19th, so that wasn't too long of a wait. Just had to share.

Congratulations On getting your mares papers. It is nice to have everything in order and the papers in hand with your name on them as owner, it is a good feeling.

I got Mesa's finally too! I sent her application in July also, but it was July of 2007..LOL I got them on Monday. Her offical name is "Steens Mesa Creek". She's a horse of the future...her birth date is 202005...LOL I got the corrected one the very next day.
Just to add, I'm not upset about the lenght of time it took to get them back. Things like that don't bother me.

I think you will find that alot of SMKR papers are finding there way to your mail boxes. As they have set out to make getting the paperwork caught up. While taking a break from other activities.

I FOUND THIS KINDA INTERESTING. I SENT IN APPLICATIONS FOR MINE, FOR BOTH THE KMA AND IBHA, ON THE SAME DATE (APPROX 2 WEEKS AGO). YESTERDAY, I RECEIVED MY REGISTRATION AND PAMPLETS FROM THE IBHA. HOW LONG DO YALL THINK IT WILL TAKE THE KMA?

I think it stands for the International Buckskin Horse Association. Their web site is: www.ibha.net/

Well, Jason, since the IBHA has no inspection process, nor do they require DNA , ( which all take time ) I'm not surprised a bit they got your papers to you quickly. The quality of photos you send in also can highly impact whether or not the horse is inspected easily. Should everything be in order and go smoothly, then you shouldn't have too long a wait. When I registered, I chose ABRA as opposed to IBHA for the buckskin registry. Kim

ACTUALLY, THEY BOTH HAD ESSENTIALLY THE SAME APPLICATION. THE ONLY REAL DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE IBHA DID NOT REQUIRE A DNA TEST. I HAD TO SEND IN PICS WITH BOTH FOR INSPECTION PURPOSES. WITH THE KMA I HAD TO MAIL IN A REQUEST FOR A DNA TEST KIT. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM THE KMA.

KIM, WHAT MADE YOU CHOSE THE ABRA OVER THE IBHA?

I do not know about Kim, but when it comes to choosing between ABRA and IBHA it is all about location of events and shows. ABRA covers the west coast to the middle of the states, While the IBHA cover the east coast to the middle of the states.

The IBHA application requires photos not for inspection per se, but for verification of dun or buckskin coloration. The KMA inspection process includes inspection of conformation as well as color, and must be inspected by several inspectors. Are you saying you have not even recieved your DNA test kit? Let me know asap. I chose ABRA as they offer more for me and my horses in the way of shows and promotional events here on the west coast, as Tiffany stated.
