Forwarding from my yahoo group... these were the 2 orphan colts that Andi fostered: Remember Takoda and Diego, the Kiger orphans we had last fall? Well, they went to an adoption in Prineville Oregon 2 weekends ago and didn’t get adopted, so that means they have 1 strike against them. They will be heading to Montana, to Billings, for an adoption this coming weekend. If they don’t get adopted THERE, they will go to Utah the following weekend. If they aren’t adopted by Utah, which is the 15th-16th of August, they will have 3 strikes and will be sale authority horses. Takoda is a VERY handsome looking fellow now. He’s pretty correct and friendly. Diego wasn’t as friendly as Takoda and a little bigger and has a bit of a ewe neck but he’s also a cutie. I hope someone in these areas adopts them! They are yearlings now. You can see pictures of them on this site; they are the only yearling stud colts: www.blm.gov/or/resources/whb/whb-photos.php The one on the top right hand corner is Takoda and the one that is 3rd down on the right is Diego. Wish I were closer. My boyfriend is wanting to adopt a wild one and gentle. He would be great great at it. He has formed such a bond with his quarter horse who is 7 now, he got as a yearling and you couldnt even touch him, you walk in a stall with him and he'd turn his butt to you and kick. Something happened and he was terrified of everyone. Took up til a few years ago before they finally connected and bonded. He's a very sensitive horse, very light cues.

These two were at the High Desert Museum adoption, not Prineville I think. Takoda was defintely the nicer looking colt. We were all calling him little Napoleon as he was quite a lot smaller than the other 2 yearling colts, and had an attitude! I loved him!! the other colt, Diego, I think was the hernia colt in the 07 adoption catalog. The 7 year old mare was nice looking, but definitely alpha and quite the stinker. Hope they get adopted in MT. Kim
