Fantasy is in foal with my new saddle mule and my daughter's half Kiger Cleo is in foal as well We are very happy and look forward to Spring of 2009.

Wow, that's fabulous!!!! Congratulations. Is Cleo also bred to the mule from last year? If so, you could have yourself a real nice team there in the future!!! Wouldn't those long ears and that dorsal stripe really attract attention? Can't wait to see them. Please keep us posted!

Actually my daughter went the color route as Cleo is Kiger/Paint she bred Cleo to a black and white Tobiano Paint. So we will have a horse and mule foal come spring.

How exciting!!! I wonder how much of the dun factor the foal will inherit? Is the stallion homozygous?

This is Cleo she is not a dun, while dispostion and then conformation were passed by the stud first, my daughter chose, he is not homozygous. However we have seen several of his foals that are out of minimal overo mares, he has produced very loud Toveros. Cleo is out of a loud frame overo mare and has some sabino indicators with the white on her lower chin and white socks. She also has white hairs on her body but that could be because her dam was a roan as well. Color can be fun to play with once you have worked past the dispsition and the conformation. My daughter is an adult and Cleo is her horse, I was just around to help advise when asked. Cleo' is a wonderful mare and the stallion is a family horse ridden by everyone and Cleo is the only mare he was bred to this year.
