In Dec my daughter sold her first mustang, Quiet Storm, to a gal in OR. This last week we received a frantic email saying she hadn't the money to pay board this next month and could we take her back? I have absolutely no room, but I did. So now we're looking for a new home for Quiet Storm. She's small, just 13.2 hands, three years old, green broke. DD has had her out on short trail rides last fall and she's ponied little kids around. She's been on the road with no problems and doesn't mind crowds of children getting up close and personal. Quiet Storm is very cute, very sociable and a pretty silver bay in color. She has been my daughter's best friend but we're completely over horsed and need to find her a new home. We're in WA state. Please email if you've got questions or know someone who may be interested. desperatehorsewife AT gmail.com

She is beautiful and has a really good start. I am sure she would make some horse crazy kid a great friend and mount. Best of luck finding just the right home!!!! If I were closer she would be sold in a heart beat. I have a ton of youth members who would just love to have a horse period!!!! Maybe you might want to contact some of your local 4H clubs or junior youth clubs. Perhaps she might find a loving home there. Kelly

Thanks, we think she's pretty danged cute I could probably sell her better up in Canada, to be honest. I hear the BLM brand is somewhat coveted. I may talk to a pony hunter/jumper trainer this week from BC to see if she knows of any potential homes.

That's a wonderful idea and yes, the freeze brand is quite a lure when it comes to a good sturdy using horse. Those rock hard feet and durability are very sot after. (not to mention the level headed intelligence when it comes to "issues" on the trail) Give me a Mustang any day!!!! It sounds like she would make a great partner for that special youth rider. Best of luck finding her a good home. Kelly

That is one adorable pony, Tracey. Wish I had the extra room! I'd take her in a heartbeat.

Thanks, Kim. We've always been totally smitten with her. Wish we could keep her but the City Boy is a bit against it. DD's going to cry a river of tears...again. Saddled her up and lunged her yesterday and she did great. Had a bit in her mouth for the first time. Wish it hadn't been an eggbutt, but it's the only 4 1/2 inch I've got so it'll have to do. I was going to put an ad up in the Vancouver, BC craigslist...do you think they'd boot me out? It's no further than Seattle, but being a different country I don't know if they'd let it stay in there.

What color would you call her? She's cute. She seems really relaxed and calm.

She is a silver bay and I happen to think she is adorable as well. I tell ya' when I see wonderful little horses like this come up I wish I was in better finincial position to snatch them up. Because as a trained trail pony I know I would use her. I hope she finds a wonderful kid, because that is who she could really make happy I am sure.

For the most part, yes, she's one laid back little horse. Especially for a three year old. She just came that way, though. We had so many nay sayers when we first said we were adopting. Y'all know what I'm talking about...don't do it, they're going to be too much for you, shouldn't let your kid have one... Then when we got her (and yes, we lucked out), DD was leading her over poles and tarps on her third day with us. Then all the nay sayers were saying she must have been trained before...lol! Yes, as a recently captured yearling, I'm sure. If DD weren't nearly as tall as me right now, we'd keep her. But when you're 14 and 5'6" already, you know those long legs of your's will be too long for those short legs of the pony

Hi DHW:
I was wondering if you have had any luck selling her? I was curious how tall she is? If she is not gone, drop me an email at kigers4ever@hotmail.com. I would love to chat about a possible home for her with one of my friends 4-H members out in Alberta. Kelly

Cross your fingers...I had someone come look today and she says she's coming back this weekend to pick her up! Nice young gal with a lot of experience wants her as a buddy horse and for her young cousins to tag along on trail rides. She got on and rode and QS, who hasn't been ridden but once since coming back, thought she'd argue at first but then settled right in. This gal is smaller than DD or I, so the perfect person to continue with the training. She works at a rope manufacturer up here; they supply rope for a lot of halter people and she's trading me some halter rope
