The only mention of I saw was that it was a natural causes. Does anyone have an idea of how old Sundance was? I have had one horse pass away at 23 that was real old for him and another live until 34 just depends on the horse.

Sundance was born in 1993, son of Steens Kiger and Mestena, brother of Donner, 1/2 brother of our Miley. With my mare Springtime, Sundance sired my Bolero and Shelley's Firefly, and is Grandsire to my Chica. Obviously, I think very highly of Sundance, and the SK bloodline. This why I feel so very sad about his passing. Sundance was almost family. Bolero resembles him greatly and I am told has a very similar personality.
My daughter has the mare that she grew up on that is at least 37 years old. Tassie was resurrected when Lisa got her 2 fillies, one being our first Kiger, Miley. Tassie got to be alhpa again and having the job to teach those youngsters how to behave gave her a reason to keep going. Mental health is as important to horses as it is to senior humans!

How very trajic then as Sundance was indeed a young man considering. I am very happy to see that he is well remembered and appreciated. The tribute was very nice and well done.
