I'm in the beginning stages of putting together a trail horse program for mustangs. Nothing fancy, just logging how many hours in the saddle out on the trail. I'm issuing certificates for 100 hours (and more) on the trail between now and Dec 31. Hoping next year to have the AMBA on board and make it something a bit more exciting. If they go for it, you'd need be a member and your horse registered with them. I know...that's all you Kiger folks need, right? Another registry to deal with? LOL... But I'm really hoping that mustang owners can unite and begin working together to promote the wild horses no matter which HMA they come from. Individually, we never seem to gain ground, but collectively we'll have a lot more power. But I'm rambling... If anyone is interested in the trail log, just send me a pm with your email addy and I'll email you the file. I have no clue how to make it into something that can be posted here

Yes, Angela, I did! There should have been an email that went out letting folks know there was a file uploaded. Then again, if everyone is like me, they probably ignored it, lol!

Most of my Kigers are registered with AMBA already, although my membership has lapsed...

Cool, Kim. I'm really hoping to see some cohesiveness within the mustang community this next year or so, and think that's the registry that could make it happen. At least it's been around for awhile and doesn't appear to have competition on a national level with other mustang registries. I don't think it's been very active in terms of events, but I'm hoping we can get that to change. I'm working with someone else up in WA on a series of shows next year that would have mustang classes and highpoint awards. I'd love if the other mustang shows out there would also link to the AMBA so that we could start doing national points and recognition. But...gotta start somewhere and a trail program seems to be something everyone can do with their horse and it isn't too intense in terms of paperwork at this end
