I'm pretty sure the black and the red dun were the ones badly injured last fall. Anyone know for sure?

yes Dianne, you are correct. Tom & Vonni have had the black mare at thier place nursing her back to health. she has a filly on her side now. I plan on attending this adoption.

nrly... It is a silent auction, you would have to have someone there bidding on your behalf. Silent auctions are very competitive I have attended several for other type items and just love em'. Anyway, it is not just a matter of having someone bid for you, you would have to make arrangements for them also to pay for the horses, hold them over for your delivery arrangements as well. You of course I would imagine have to get approval for adoption first from the BLM. So you would first have to get into contact with them.

We will be filming at the auction and I might be able to help with logistics for out of towners if anyone needs it, Nola? We live about 15 miles from the museum on the east side of Bend near the airport if you know the area. Depending what you adopt we might be able to offer overnight “holding” for your new horse. I have a stallion on site, but he has his own very secure area when needed and we have a couple of pastures. Fence height is a consideration though. Our pastures have 4 foot post and no climb wire with a hot wire at the top, but we do have the 6 foot high 50 foot round pen and we can maneuver a trailer to that gate.
If you are coming overnight and need a place to park a motor home or trailer, we can offer water electric and we’ll share the house indoor plumbing and showers. Please let me know if we can help. We enjoy meeting other Kiger folks and I know Rick will have some footage to share from the adoption.

Two others have been cared for by Tom and Andi.

Nola, I don't think you would be able to find a transport company willing to haul wild horses. They need to be able to lead the horses in and out of the trailer. You would have to hire a trainer to gentle them and get them ready to haul. The BLM does all the coggins and things you would need to haul horses out of state.

Looks like the horses look much nicer than the ones from the last adoption. Very cool. I like the two sturdy looking mares. This first one though looks like she might have a long back. This one looks like she would have a nice hip and I am VERY pleased to see that she appears to have a nice short back. I know that has been a large problem for the Kigers for a while. Having long backs. Very cool! Could train this one up real nice. Breed her to a stud that has a nicer neck, wither, and shoulder. Good luck to anyone that bids.

The real issue is do you have the right facilities for a wild one? It would be good to look at their requirements because you have to meet them to even get a bidding number. Your barn would not appreciate you bringing in a wild horse, I'd bet money on that as I don't know any barn that would.

I really liked the looks of the 7 year old mare. The yearling colt in the top right also looks nicely balanced. I wonder if the black is a dark grulla as she looks to have tan in the ear.
