Hi everyone, Things have been busy and hectic at the "ranch" but Maria finally had her foal yesterday, in the wee hours of the morning as usual. All are doing well, and I am happy to say that the weather held out and did not soak them as had been predicted. Instead, it became sunny, even if a bit windy. Trinket's colt -- and when I speak of a Trinket, I mean Sora Sonora at my ranch, as that is her ranch name -- is already trying to play with him. Maria is a good mom and drives him off when he gets too rough. Here are pictures of the new one, and a picture of both mares with their foals so you can see how much the grulla colt (Donovan?) had grown... Hope it works! Enjoy! Diane

Oh my gosh he is just darling. I so miss having a baby to play with this year. The big babies I have don't mind getting all the attention though. Congratulations

Tiffany, you are welcome to come over any time and visit these guys to get your baby horse fix! I am not that far away, give me a call. My number is on my web site (still pathetically outdated) www.spanishsageranch.comYou can also see Celestial Gem, the two year old you drew for the calendar. That was you, wasn't it? She's the grulla foal who was just a nursling on the web site. She is now four and developing beautifully. Both she and her little sis who is sold but staying here for a bit are very protective of their little bro, and I would suspect that Maria's girl will be the same this weekend when this little tyke gets introduced to all his aunties. It's always an exciting time to see them all together, and thus far the herd of mares has been very very good to the babies, and the dams have made sure of that. The lead mare also gives a "talkin' to" to any that seems to push the envelope. The dynamics are quite heart warming. Diane P.

I can vouch that going to Diane's house is fun ;D You get to walk through the herd and then get to go in with the stallions. They are all so friendly (sometimes too friendly lol).
Highly recommend a visit....if I were closer, I'd come over!

Sorry no it was not me that made the calendar that credit goes to Richelle Wilson.
I did not realize you were just around the corner Diane P. I just may have to give you a call for a visit one of these days. When I know the weather will be nice. I love to vist horse owners and Kiger owners all the more fun.
