My poor Fantasy I have always said if she were born in the wild she would probably be dead. One tuff Mustang, she is not. A DIVA and high maintenance she is for sure. You could say she is an easy keeper as far as her diet goes and she has nice conformation and great feet. But she has a low tolerance for pain and I swear she is allergic to everything, or just about. This is the worse time of year for her. Spring the pollen count is high and the snot starts to flow. The glands in her throat are swollen huge. The tiny black biting flies came out with the rains and a few warm days, even though I got her fly sprayed they still managed to chew on her arm pits enough to cause a reaction that has the skin split and swollen. She could barely walk and shakes with pain the whole time I wash and apply medication. It is absolutely pitiful to watch. My daughter says she can not believe Fantasy still loves me after I hurt her. But she has such a low tolerance for pain treating any sore she gets causes her pain, I can not help that. She often feels better after the treatment and runs around the pasture like a total dork.
The most frustrating for me I can not ride her when she is in pain or not well. So any work with her or trailrides is once again put off. My days are filled with serving this horse, grooming her tending to her every need so she is comfortable everyday. It is no wonder we have issues of respect and just who is on charge here...LOL ;D I am pretty sure she is under the impression I am her servant.
