Hey Tiffany, I have found that Ki ( dun ) when crossed with red dun mares has produced predominantly grulla offspring, so I wasn't at all surprised when we crossed Fuego with Dulcie that she had a grulla filly. Ellens grullo gelding Rocky is by Ki and out of a red dun mare. Lil sure does raise some nice babies, with a ton of groundwork and great manners. Kim

Lil, We have a Dulciena del Toboso who was adotped in 2003 form the Riddle herd. Where did your Kiger Dulcinea come from; Steens or Riddle? Renrock Stella is such a georgeous color. Leesa

Hi Leesa, when I saw your mare with that name I meant to get on here and let you know about mine . There is one other Kiger mare I know of, registered with the KMA, named Dulcinea; I remember seeing her for sale at one point. My mare came out of Kiger, in 2003, as a 3 year old, and she was just so sweet, "Dulcinea" seemed the only name for her. And, I was really captured by the pic of your stallion; he looks SOOO much like the first foal my Dulcie had, range bred and born in 2004; a colt, who started out looking buttermilk dun, but went grey. He is now a stout, beautiful gelding. He still has his dorsal stripe though. Anyway, fun to know we both liked the same name. Lil

Hi Lil, The name is so indicative of the personality and "sweetness" of these horses no wonder so many of us liked it and used it. I can't help but wonder if both of our Dulci's weren't covered by the same stallion and therefore your colt and our Cisco could, at the very least, be 1/2 brothers. Do you have any pictures of him you could post? Just out of courosity what month and day was he born on?
