Fuego is great. I haven't been giving him the attention he needs since he came home from the trainer. Probably needs to come visit you and Kevin for a refresher!! hint hint!! I'll be sending Michelle pics of his silver grulla filly to post under the grulla foals thread! KIm

Don't know how I missed this thread! Cool looking guy Kim! I love his chest. Looks like he has that ear of wheat sworl on his lower neck too. Chinny has that and gives it to his kids. Wonder if these guys are related.

Belle has that same whorl and passes it on too. I've read about that whorl in Linda Tellington-Jone's book but can't remember what it said. Nice guy Kim!

This is what Linda Tellington-Jones said about the 'wheat swirl' according to her book it is considered bad luck by the Bedouins. Because so many horses with this type of swirl have behaved uncontrolable and unpredictable. I can tell you Fantasy has one and it rings true with her, she was definately unpredictable. But my Clydesdale mare has one as well she is easy to control and very predictable. I surely don't feel like it's bad luck, I feel very lucky to have both these horses in my life.

Wow, Tiffany. that certainly does not ring true with Fuego. He is such a kind and predictable gentleman. This stallion can get along with absolutely anyone. He's had the company of geldings and 2 year old stud colts, a burro and a cow, all while in with his mare for breeding at the same time. He just gets along with anyone and is never a problem at all. ( he's pretty cool under saddle too! )

I can understand how a certain inherited coat patterns can be associated with certain inherited personality characteristics. Both are passed down genetically. But to say that the same coat pattern in another breed means the same thing doesn't hold true. Kim, How lucky for the young stud colts to have such a great example in Fuego. They learn so much that way.

He almost has a creamy look to his coat. Have you tested him for the cream gene? Very handsome boy!

This is Renrock Stella, born in 2007, by Fuego, out of my mare Kiger Dulcinea, who I got at the 2003 adoption. It isn't a great pic for conformation, but does show her pretty silver grulla color. See Kim? I do have a picture :-)
