Just had a few moments to pop on to report that Sora Sonora, one of my grulla Kigers, gave birth to a sweet and lovely little colt, a grulla, sired by Silver Bullet. From what I can see underneath the fuzz, he does have nice stripes, and no white that I can see, although he as a half white rear hoof which usually means a half coronet of white.
All seem to be doing great, with baby trotting around after mom, nickering, and the herd on the other side of the fence looking on in interest.
Mom is eating now, baby figured out how to lie down (which prompted one of the herd mares to look around for him as she glanced over to the pen and did not see him standing -- that was cute!), so thought I would take time away from my adoring observation to post here. Will post pics later, I am on dial up, so it is somewhat of a process to first go to photobucket then post here, so apologies, all.
Happy Mother's Day!

Okay, I am going to try this. Sorry, these pics are darker than they appeared on my laptop, hope they are okay for you guys. First one is them scoping out the pen. He is about 6 hours old in these pics: This next one is the cute little guy's face. Look at those ears! Good thing he is fuzzy because it was in the mid 20s his first night out in the "real world." Finally, his leg stripes. I was trying to get just a picture of his front legs, and mama moved just as I snapped it. Turned out pretty interesting as I got Mom's leg and baby's right next to each other. Compare... So here goes -- whatever. We will see if this works. Today all is well, the herd still wants to just get in there and visit with him! For now, I am calling him Donovan, because it was sunny the day he was born, and that Donovan song, "sunshine came softly through my window today" kept running around my head as I watched him. Congratulations! Yep, good thing he had all that fuzz, 20's is cold. He's already shedding around his eyes and nose. Bet you are tickled to pieces, he's very cute.

Hi all, sorry I have been busy and having fun with the little tyke, who is doing well, and wants me to play. I keep telling him he has to go talk to his Auntie Maria and tell her to hurry up and have her foal so he has a buddy.
Kim, Eclipse is not expecting this year, but she is in consideration for breeding for next year. We are working on polishing her under saddle skills, and getting her to look more like a horse and less like a hippo! She is that color, you know! Making progress on both fronts, and I suppose she can still be schooled while she is pregnant.
Will post updated pictures soon as I get a chance. I will try to resize them so they are not so big.
