Finally, two weeks late! We had almost given up. He is a colt, red dun we think. Do red duns have dark legs? His dorsal is definetly red!

Congratulations!!!!! I know what you mean by a long wait. He is cute from what we can see. I won't comment on color though as we've only had 2 foals born on our place so I am far from an expert. I'll watch for everyone's updated pics of the foals as they mature. He looks as though he has some dark on his legs, whereas our filly has none.
Who's mare is next? Nola?? We have one more coming this year, in June.

What a big boy! I'd wait to see the color of his mane dry before venturing a guess. His tail looks dark. My Arab mare's 2006 colt couldn't decide if he was bay or chestnut. We finally decided he is a light sandy bay. The thing that threw us was his red eyelashes. I, too, can't wai to watch the foals as the shed and mature. Congrats! Suzy

congrat on your new colt, my Stormy has a red line and yet she has the dark mane ,tail, and legs. So it is hard to say, and she is regestered as a red line back dun.

Nice looking big colt! Looks like a dun...the red duns usually are harder to see the leg stripeing and if they are a darker red dun, like Desi, then they can have black looking mane/tail, but it is really very very dark burgandy and they are born with them really looking red anyway. How you can really tell black based as opposed to red base is the color around the eyes and private areas. Red bases are very pink, not at all dark.
