Did you know that riding can be part of your weight-loss plan? This website www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc gives you a great guideline for calculating how many calories you are burning while doing activities, including Horseback riding. Check it out! Example: Based on 150 pound person Grooming 30min--202 Calories Walking 20 min--57 Calories Trotting 20 min--147 Calories Cantering 10 min--92 Calories Burning calories can be fun!

Thats really neat! I can't wait to get back out there, I've been grounded by my chiropractor and going to laser therapy three times a week. In the mean time I can't do ANY kind of physical activities, I'm not even allowed to lift over 5 pounds.

You forgot the biggest calorie burner of all, MUCKING! Not as much fun as the riding part, but none the less a real calorie burner. Linda D

true Linda, and I have 3 stalls to muck and then pushing a full wheel barrel to the poo pile should burn something but I know it makes my arms stronger. nola
