I thought we should have some pictures of Steens Mtn for those who haven't been there. Here is one from the Kiger HMA, down on Mesteno Flats, taken Oct. 4, 2005. There was fresh snow on the mountain and clouds were moving fast, the wind was blowing and it was cold! The opposite edge of Kiger Gorge can be seen to the left of the bright spot in about the middle. Its very sheer and deep, no fence needed for most of this side of the HMA.
