Is that your new Torsion(sp?) treeless saddle? What pad are you using? I have a Barefoot London treeless for Amigo with a Skito pad..also a custom pad from the dealer that I'm saving for showing cause it's more traditional looking. I like her hip & bone, both nice & big.....what I look for.Nice horse.p

It is the new torsion saddle. The pad is the one they suggested. I'll try to get the name of it today if I remember. I didn't have time day before yesterday to do much with it because we deep cleaned three stalls down about five inches in preparation for new substrate and scrubbed the water troughs out too. We were there five hours and only just got to be on her for about a half an hour before I had to leave. I didn't have any real time to set up the saddle or anything. I'm going out today and will have more time to work with her and the saddle. I'm very used to bareback pads and haven't ridden a saddle in gosh probably twenty years so it's strange for me, but it is a very comfy saddle and it's very light weight which my back really appreciates. I started with my circle y saddle that saddle was rather heavy and by the time I got it on top of the horse I was seeing stars and a fading towards black because of the pain. This one is no such trouble. I sold my circle y saddle to a friend. I just need to get myself used to this one. Firefly is fine with it and she is constantly listening to me. When I'm talking or when I'm asking something, here ears are always turned towards me. When the picture from the side was taken, I had to hold the far rein a little tighter than the near because she wanted to turn her head and look at the camera.

Great pictures..How do you like the bitless bridle ? I am really considering getting one for Fantasy. She is a bit chomper always has been one, it annoys me more then her. For her it is just something she does when she is bored going down the trail.

I do like it. I was out on Firefly today with eight other horses, half of the horses were greenbroke, including her. One fellow who is a nice guy but quite clueless started out behind us and passed us all at a full gallop which freaked out most of the horses, not just the green broke ones. Firefly really freaked out pretty good, she reared up a little a couple of times, tried to run away, etc. But with no bit, I was able to keep her in hand each time. The fellow was finally told to quit messing about at the edges of our group and he took off and was gone from there. It was a pretty windy day and that had them a little flighty too. One of the horses kept spooking and sending the others. Firefly spooked but really stayed pretty well in hand. She went sideways a few times but nothing major for all the activity and wind around her. We were going by a horse trailer that had a horse in it and it kicked at the trailer gate as we were passing by, all of our horses jumped out of their skins but they nimbly landed right back in them I think a green rider could not handle a green horse in this bridle, but with an experienced rider, it works fine. Firefly has never been on a rubber mat before and we happened across one. She balked a few times and tried to back away but with coaxing and talking she decided to walk right on over it. All in all it was a good ride even when our leader got somewhat lost and we had to go cross country for a while to get back on track to the ranch. Part of our walk back to the ranch was down residential streets with cars going both ways. I've had her around plenty of cars and she was used to them, so having them coming at her on the street and from behind her was not stressful at all for her, she did grand!

Thanks for the info' they are pretty expensive it is nice to get some more feedback on them. I like the way the bitless bridle functions. I will definately give it more consideration.

It's kind of akward to put on until you get used to it, but it really does do a fine job and I like leaving her mouth alone.
