These are some pictures of her showing her conformation. I believe she has very good conformation but as far as Kiger conformation, there I'm not sure because I really don't know the standards yet. from the back.. diagonal front in movement Her face from the front Her face from the side These pictures weren't taken in order to be conformation type pictures so they don't totally lend themselves to it. When she sheds out her winter coat I will take conformation type pictures of her and also get some picture of her saddled and bridled and being ridden. Hopefully the pictures work

She is such a pretty girl and her Nevada desert winter coat looks like a light one. Mine are wooly beast and look like yaks.

Firefly just keeps getting better. She sure came into her own this year, didn't she. I think Firefly is lovely, but then I am rather partial to that look. She looks so much like her mom and sister, Springtiime and Chica. All of Springtime's offspring are an improvement on her I think. The genes in that family sure breed true to form. Now the guestion is, is it what other people expect to see in a Kiger mare? Bolero has features of both Spring and Sundance. He has Spring's rear and Sundance's head and brio. My vet commented on how surprised he was that they all looked so consistent, being mustangs. I am listing a link for any new comers who may want to see a blood line that is from a Steens Kiger son, Kiger Sundance and my Riddle HMA mare Springtime. Maybe Dianne can post to her photo site address because she has wonderful family photos of her horses., and others may want to do the same. Both of our sites have albums that chronicle foals as they grow up. Perhaps those with different conformation types can post photos so we can compare and contrast and explore what the Kiger types are. community.webshots.com/user/lindaadale Linda D

These pictures were before winter really came on. Right now she looks like a little dunn colored buffalo, fuzzzzzy as heck. I've had people want to cut her mane and trim her whiskers and shave under her chin and trim her ears.... I tell them, don't touch not one little hair. If the Lord wanted her whiskerless he'd have made her that way She's a mustang, not a primped up socialite

my Stormy has been here in Mesa now for 2 winters and she is just as woolly as when I got her from Rick , is it something in their DNA to make them fuzz out like that. after being here several years you would think they wouldn't have as woolly a coat.

Firefly does her best to mimic a buffalo every winter. I can see her standing there with her fluffy winter coat all warm and cozy looking at all the horses around her with a coat not even half as thick as hers. I don't worry about her getting cold that's for sure. She also makes a bed for herself. I had a friend come over and help me clean stalls and she was so proud of herself that she leveled that area. I told her you just covered up Firefly's bed. That depression is where she sleeps so we dug it back out again.

You know, all 3 of my mustangs I currently have look like furry buffaloes....And then there's my poor hair impaired, rogaine needing QH who was definately not blessed in the mane/forelock dept...I wonder if in his early years it was pulled and thinned too much...Anyways he also hardly has 1/2 the coat the others have....If I had to pick the furriest heaviest coated one it'd definitely be my little Kiger colt...aka woolly bear!
