After loads of research, our family is embarking on a new journey. Every being in this household is now taking Diatomaceous Earth on a daily basis. The benefits appear to be wide spread for animal and human alike. Some huge benefits that horse people will love is that it will naturally help in the reduction of fly population by killing the fly larvae in the manure, it will help in odor control and will also act as a natural wormer. I will keep you informed on how we are doing with this new additive.

We just started our guys on a round of it today in fact. I used to use it in Chicago with a lot of success but was told it would not work in this part of Texas due to no freezes. I decided to add it into our rotation nonetheless. I want to get down to using chemical dewormers only twice a year instead of four like we have it now.
Thanks for sharing!

Hmm... How would that combine with feeding Mezotrace/Vitaquine, do you think?

Hmmm.. that I couldn't tell you. Another good way to use it is on their body. When the flies land on them and walk, they get cut up and end up dying. Also, if you have fire ants, just cover their holes with a good dusting of diatomaceous earth. when they go in and out they get the waxy surface of their body damaged and they dehydrate.
