Today and Friday I will be bathing and grooming retired thoroughbred race horses in preparation for the open house and adoption event put on by The Second Race, to happen on Saturday. Hopefully we will have lots of adopted horses from the event. I can't do much, but I'm doing what i can in order to help our equine pals. I also designed a logo for another equine rescue... I wish I could help them money wise, but I just don't have it, so I'm helping them in ways that I can.

Happiness is a foal sleeping in your lap! She was laying down and the owner asked me to get behind her and put an arm around her. I got behind her and pet her for a little bit and talked to her and she just flopped over and laid her head on my thigh. A little later, I was sitting flat on the ground with one leg stretched out and she fell asleep with her head laying on my thigh again, only this time totally flat on the ground. What a doll, I love her. She's got a beautiful little face.

Looks like two of the horses are going to be adopted, possibly a third, but don't know. Hopefully so. We found out that one of the horses that I said appeared to be sore in the saddle area was having muscle spasms there and that was the reason for his lunging and trying to bite when people got past his withers/shoulders. He will be treated for that and then should be a lot nicer.
