What do you like about it, don't like about it. Primarily asking about western as that's what I ride, but I'm sure others would love to know about english as well:) Do you ride full quarter bars, half... etc. Square skirt, rounded skirt. Brand... Tree type.. etc. My favorite was a Circle Y saddle that I sold years ago and still regret it. I do want to get another, but I want to do a ton of research as to what works best with a kiger back.

I ride in a circle Y park and trail square skirt full QH bars. It fits most of my horses pretty well as I have a bunch of wide horses...LOL. It is also comfortable for me. However I am now on the hunt for somehting new. Fantasy's back has changed over time and she needs something else that gives her more freedom of movement. I wouldn't mind riding in something even lighter to lift up there.

My saddle is an old barrel saddle. I don't know who the maker is, but it works ok. It aint much to look at though. If I had the money I would buy a custom saddle from www.synergistsaddles.com/They have several videos on youtube that are pretty informative. *edit* My saddle is full QH bars and round skirt.

I had a Mc Call Lady Wade with a rough out seat and padded bicycle insert for Smoke. He could jump four feet before you knew he was going to move when we started and that saddle kept me from getting hurt. Made me a better rider and a better leader too. Love the way the stirrups were pre- turned and how comfortable it was having my leg fall naturally instead of feeling like I was riding a barrel. light too, but doesn't fit a broad backed horse.

I've gone through a couple saddle on Keno, as his back changes shape. I started in my ancient Crosby, Prix De Nation. Flat as a pancake with none of the pillowy fluff of todays saddles. Then I broke down and got a pillowy fluff saddle and realized why they make them that way now. Much more comfortable.
Currently I ride him in my treeless dressage saddle (it's an ansur) Not my favorite saddle but my others saddles pinch his withers. Until we find a treed saddle that fits I'm stuck working on the flat. Which is probably for the best. I'm out of shape.

I looked into treeless saddles..I learned they have a weight limit then you have to get into special pads. I thought why bother, I have a cashel soft saddle if I want treeless. I also considered a flex tree but I hear tell over time they stretch out, that is not good either. So I am still looking for the right fit.
