Who is up for a ride? C'mon, if this 6? old gal can ride someone come and ride with me. Tiffany?
I am going to try to do 2 or 3 ACTHA rides this year, all in Oregon.
We just got our Cavallo Simple Boots and are busy breaking them in. MY husband wondered what Fit would do when we tried to put front boots on him, so woe made it a joint effort. He held Fit (unecessary it turns out) and I installed boot #1. Fit put his foot down, picked it up and stomped once. I put the other boot on and he started grazing as if nothing was different. Gosh I love this attitude! He never hesitated at a walk or trot so each day we will increase the time, add the lope, water, pavement and rocks.
Sorry, got sidetracked from the ride. I think it will be fun. I know Tiffany competed last year so I have gone from afraid I was going to be killed if my horse went faster than a trot to my new attitude - "bring it on!!!!!. Also got a new helmet for Christmas ;D

June 2nd the ride starts at the BLM corrals in Hines/Burns and I am hearing there is an unofficial ride the next day in the Steens. Therre are 2 rides in the Prineville area in July. Go to the ACTHA web site and you cna search for rides anywhwere in the US.
My husband is patiently constructing obstacles for practice and even if we don't do well, it will be fun. When I joined ACTHA I got a $50.00 discount and free shipping on my Cavallo boots so it was win/win.

yes I will participating in two of the ACTHA rides in Oregon the prineville Bandit Springs ride. As that is being held at the same time/place as an endurance ride, I may compete in a short endurance ride the same weekend. I will also be competing in the ride held at the Prineville fairgrounds. So to get prepared we must ride together when the weather starts playing nice  |

heck make some in central or southern CA or even northern that i can get to that are worth the drive and I will be there with either Dollie or a borrowed horse.

I am hoping to do at least 3 ACTHA rides this year, in Washington. Anybody want to join me June 23 in Fall City ( near Issaquah?) and July 14 at Bolender's near Chehalis? Come ride with me! Lil

I just heard last minute about a ride being held at the Redmond Fairgrounds today and I will be there with a few of my friends. Should be fun and good practice for future rides this season. I will have my camera with me and bring back pictures |

Give it a couple years... and if there are any of those in Northern Nevada it sounds fun. I'd at least come have a look at the ones in Washington - if I still lived there!

Oh I am thinking I need to figure out how to get to the Burns ride so many of my Mustang friends are going. It is a dilema...should I stay or should I go...LOL
Anyway yesterdays ride was fun and full of excitement. Put on by Kate Beardsley on short notice she did a great job. Fantasy did OK she was in heat and riding with her good buddy Maverick whom she really did not want to leave to do obsticles. But we hung in there and rode for he first time in a bitless bridle. Mainly we had fun and that is what these rides are all about for me. Fantasy took the lead out to start with the second group I was proud of her, with Fantasy in heat it was a challenge doing the ride together with my friend Denise's Mustang Maverick. We ride together so often seperating for obstacles was very upsetting for Fantasy. By the last obstacle she just flat out refused to leave Maverick behind with out a huge fit. Something to work on for the future as Denise and I plan on more rides together.

I won't be making it to the Burns/Hines ACTHA ride. Though I would have loved to see every one, I really need to try and save my money and stick to rides close to home. I am saving for a trip to Texas to pick up a new horse |

Thanks DianneC I think so too. I did ride in the St. Judes charity ride on June 2nd . I do plan to ride in the ACTHA ride at Brasada/Rim Rock on June 29th, as that takes place just a couple miles from my farm. |
