*sigh* So word from back home is that Keno has been busy widening out. His saddle no longer fits and even the medium wide saddle my trainer has is starting to get snug. I know it's probably not really him growing and rather muscle developement, but after 3 years of him filling out I am beginning to wonder when it's going to stop. Every year he seems to have more muscle.
I've already gone through 2 saddles. Currently only my treeless dressage saddle fits him, and it's far from my favorite saddle. Doesn't he know how hard it is to find saddles in Hawaii?!?! Let alone one to fit a tank of a horse. I love that he's such a solid boy, I just wish I lived in an area with a larger horse community. Not enough consignment tack around here, and E-bay is hit or miss. Going to have to see if I can borrow a saddle or two just to test fit, probably the best way to go about finding a new one. Ahh the joys of horses and their uncanny knack of finding ways for you to spend more money.
Just a bit of venting, all done now. Off to shop for (yet another) new saddle.
