Thanks so much Michelle for posting Ki's pics. I'm just so darned computer illiterate, it's a wonder I can even post messages on here! LOL. Ki is truly the love of my life. He was foaled on Riddle HMA in 1992 and adopted at the 1993 adoption. I am his 3rd and final owner ( who owns who?? ) and have had him since he was 4. Ki is my main riding horse. He has glorious movement; goes both english and western and is also broke to drive. He is an awesome mountain trail horse. He has such a quiet mind and is so very good natured. When kids come over and want pony rides, he is the one I pull out of the pasture and give pony rides on. His foals tend to inherit his wonderful disposition as well as his movement and have proven to be quite well suited for dressage. Ki has over 30 foals on the ground and has sired 100% dun and grulla offspring out of a variety of colored mares. No red duns to date. I haven't had him color tested, but would venture to guess him homozygous for black. He has quite a good sense of humor too! Kim

Yea... lol, I was really confused. I've had Ki's webpage saved for quite some time now, lol. I had a really nice buckskin BLM mare that I was considering breeding to a Kiger a few years back, and I had all the potential stallions pages saved. Totally confused me when Michelle posted his pics. He's gorgeous by the way! To anyone else who wants to see it... here's his link. Hope you don't mind Kim www.geocities.com/kigertiger/ki.html

Ki is just plain gorgeous. Super nice mind as well. Kim, you've done so well with all your horses and really showed off what Kigers can do.

He is very handsome indeed, it is wonderful for everyone to picture there stallions here. I love seeing them. Best of all I love hearing that they are their owners best buddies because they have the best personalities, not tucked away in some stall brought out just during breeding season for fear they might cause some harm.

The best thing is that Ki really does pass that personality on to his get. My gelding Rocky is by Ki, and he is a giant lap dog. He truly would go in the house with me and cuddle if given the chance. He would rather spend time with his "humans" than with the other horses. Also has such an awesome extended trot that even my "Dressage Queen" sister's mouth dropped open the first time she saw it.
Rocky was started under saddle last fall, and will be completing the Michigan shore to shore ride in June (if I can get my butt in shape ;D). I have a couple of endurance rides picked out for this summer, and next summer Kim is hoping to make the journey to Michigan so that she too can ride Rock on the shore to shore ride next year!
Ellen
Whoops, forgot to mention that Ki also gives his foals a gorgeous head!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Ellen, I am still up for that trip next year! Give Rocket a kiss on the nose from his "grandma" ( me ) ! I can hardly believe that Ki is 16 this year! two of his sons whom I still have, Kody, my grullo stallion and Banner my gelding ( and Rocky's full brother ) would both make awesome dressage horses. Kody has been going that direction for a few years now. I'll be counting down to riding Rocky on the shore to shore with you!!

Kim, I can't wait for you to come out. I think my biggest problem is going to be turning the reins over to someone else, I just don't want to share him. He is the most comfortable horse I have ever ridden. His trot is so smooth I can leave the sports bra home . I have even jumped him a few times now and he was awesome. In my past HJ days I worked with a trainer to retrain ex racehorses for jumping. I have never ridden a horse that took to it as naturally as Rocky has. They usually either rub the first few rails, or they jump 4 feet hight to clear a cross rail. He just went about his business like he had been jumping for years. He never changed his speed and did not give a big thrust. I wish I could have taped it to see how he held his knees. Can ya tell I'm a teeny bit excited ;D. I can't wait to get him to his first show! My sis says she will have us ready for our fist Event next year. Ellen ;D Yes, I am in love with my horse!

WoooHooo!!!! go Rocky! Ya know, my friend Joanna is a hunter jumper trainer, and just loves my boys. She has met Banner ( Rocky's full brother ), Fuego, and Ki; and Ki's half Kiger son Casino. She can't stop raving about them and her husband wants his own in the future. But getting back on track...we were up at her barn and just playing with Ki over the jumps, and talk about a natural!! I thought Joanna was just gonna die she was so excited about his ability. Go figure...he's 16 years old and I'm just now finding out he likes to jump!!
