At least, last I heard it was Odessa. Meet Bureau, a coming two year old colt that will be adopted out in April here in WA. He's a promo Kiger that was set aside and never sent through the Nov adoption. If he's not at Odessa in April, he'll be at Pasco in June...but last I spoke with Rick he was thinking Odessa. So...how many of you will we be seeing there???

They wanted him for a WA adoption to help draw more people.

Yahoo - I'll be in Odessa -- was going to be there anyway... now it will be that much more fun! Out of the 7 mustangs that we have adopted over the past 12 years.... we adopted 4 of them from the Odessa Satellite adoptions! Yahoo!

I don't think it will be Odessa, TX. I live in Odessa. Our adoption is in November. I'll go check the schedule. If it is here, great. If not, let's meet up the next time any of you are in Odessa for the Nov. adoption. Yes, we do have a successful adoption here. Most of the animals get adopted. I'm not sure why is has been so popular. It may be that people come from New Mexico also since we are close to the NM border.
Idahomustanger, you come all the way down here? Or do you actually live in Idaho?

I'll just be traveling from Idaho into Washington. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from our place. I live in Sandpoint Idaho. Odessa is just a tiny little farming town in Washington, but BLM owns a ranch outside of Odessa - out in the middle of now where.... We adopted our very first mustang from Odessa in 1996. A 5 year old stallion out of the Coyote Lake HMA. We gelding him, and after he healed up, we were riding him within 30 days. He was my main riding gelding for the last 11 years. We just lost him in early December - he colicked and then twisted an intestine. www.idahokigers.com/Images/Chance_in_BLM_corral.JPGThis was him in the Odessa BLM corrals - (the little sorrel) www.idahokigers.com/Images/Oregon_Chance.jpgThis is a picture of him on one of our weekend camping/riding trips. I really miss him. He was our "do everything" horse. Nancy

Nancy, I heard they had a wonderful facility there and that there was some good riding. Lea's been trying to talk me into bringing Jet over, and they'd haul a horse for my daughter to ride, so we could go out on the trails.

We've not ridden any of the trails... but I have heard the same thing... that there are lots of places to ride! Hmmmm .... I never thought about bringing the camper and couple of our horses.....That just might be a really good idea!!!

Nancy, our first mustang was also from Coyote Lakes! DD got the bug to adopt a new horse while in Burns in Nov, so decided to sell Quiet Storm. Big mistake, I think, and tried to talk her out of it. Now she's depressed because her 'best friend' is gone and she's now got a mare who's aborted, had a head injury and doesn't want to be anyone's friend. We really miss Quiet Storm, but she's got a new owner who's learning to ride and we know QS will take good care of her.
