Please keep passing this information to all your horse friends & alert your local horse sales. The above picture is a more clear faceshot the black gelding, "Badger". The 4 other horses stolen are: Sorrel blaze face horse with a rocking V on his left shoulder, right hip has backward L with a K. Grey mare with no markings, a Buckskin mare with a star on her head, and a Black mare. Call Ashley Mills with any information (386) 209-0469 & your local Sheriff's Department. www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tinyman#!/photo.php?fbid=10150454908381057&set=a.378860476056.193487.321089311056&type=1&theater And from an alum...because people read the notice and think the horses were in the trailer overnight at the time... The horses and tack weren't in the trailer at that hour. The SAU rodeo team barn is right on a busy highway that runs through the campus. The horses are stalled or pastured near the barn, the tack is stored there and the trailers are parked nearby. I'm guessing that the perpetrators hooked up to the trailer, loaded the horses and tack and took off. I have driven past this barn many times. I always thought that the gate to the barn was locked but I suppose locks and chains can be broken. Just so you know. SAU has a fairly large school farm with a dairy operation, beef cattle, hogs, broiler houses and an egg producing house. The farm is on the north (I think) side of the campus, away from the main campus buildings. There is a very large house that has been built recently just past where the horse barn is located. There used to be a caretaker that was housed on the farm but I don't know if they still have one or not. We also used to have campus police that patrolled the whole campus including the farm.
