He has had them for sale for a while. He bought the Tarpan-like horses (abt 20) from Harry Hegardt in 1990 as a package and wants to sell them as such, but he indicated to Rick that he will split up the Kigers. He is a nice man, but some of the horses have not had much handling. If anyone is interested, Rick passes his house twice a week and he will stop and take pictures for you. I will try to get him to tak pictures anyway come to think of it and I will post the Kigers and the Tarpans just so you can see how close he seems to have come to what we are told were the original Tarpans. I know that brothers in Germany were trying to recreate the breed in the 30's.

When I spoke with him a few days ago, he said the Tarpans were all gone, and the only way he would split up the Kigers is if someone wanted to take most of them, then he may let them go and find homes for the remaining one or two separately. He has one that I am particularly interested in.
Update: just spoke with Gordy again today. He does want the Kigers to go as a herd. The Tarpans have been spoken for but are still there. He knows I am interested in one, and if someone wants all but that one, then he said we can work something out. So it doesn't sound as though he is particularly willing to split them up at this point. Bobbe, if Rick can get a picture of Foxy, I haven't seen her in years!

Kim,
I'm assuming Gordy knows which one of Foxy? Rick is not back out there now until Tuesday next. Did Gordy say how many if any are gentled?

Bobbe, yes Gordy knows which one. Foxy is his oldest mare, and not only do I remember her well, I have a soft spot for geriatrics. I would love to have her for the rest of her days. It sounded like they are all halterbroke and gentle. None are broke to ride.

Does anyone know what ever happened with all this? Did he home them or is he still looking? Did he split them up to get them placed?

Phone number is disconnected. Perhaps Kim knows something. They were not listed for sale anywhere in our area recently that I can find.
