I am finally getting these pics up! This is Conchetta and I doing our demo at Kiger Kraze last week. Kara took these for me (thanks Kara!). The first one, the camera was set on a funny exposure and I was bluish green, so I changed it to black and white. This one is Conchetta listening while I tell her story, of being adopted as a 12 year old wild horse, and how long it took to get to where we are today circling trotting

I love those ears! The markings are so unique. There was a horse up for adoption with the same black tips..may have been an older stallion?Does anyone know if he got picked?Probably directly related tio this mare.

Lil, what a joy to meet you and Conchetta! You really should move out East, we could have blast.
Conchetta is one of those horses that steals your heart. Can't tell you how much I love this mare. She is so honest! You were just the right person for her, so positive and patient. Love her little lower lip quiver and "leaning" from strangers. She is the perfect teacher and you are the perfect student. Looking forward to hearing more of your adventures. If you ever get the hankering, feel free to send her my way!
Karen
PS - She may not be an affectionate, touchy, feely type but please believe she loves and trusts you more than anything:))))

Thank you Karen! I don't think I will ever move back east; that would be too far from Oregon and my wild horses! For all her quirky, wild horse manerisms, I do know she trusts me, or I wouldn't be riding her. From the first time I climbed on, she has acted like it was the most normal thing in the world for me to be up there, and she was ready to get to work. Being as sensitive as she is, she has taught me more about my horse skills than I can say. Pepper; I don't know if her ears are unique or not. I have two grulla kigers, Conchetta and a home bred, silver grulla mare, and they both have the dark tips with a dark shaded stripe below that. So I thought it was normal . I should go back through adoption pics and look more closely.

I agree Lisa. My grullas all have eartips like those as well.

Guess I never noticed the ear tips before.Maybe this one was so light colored that the black showed more clearly.Pretty cool looking & since kigers are working with a pretty small gene pool...they still could be related...Migo has stripes on his ears which I know is common for kigers.
