These are pictures I took this morning..I have been so busy showing him off and everyone is having so much fun playing with him he loves people and Fantasy is starting to give up on worrying about all the people in the stall and paddock. He just see people and just comes right over, he is getting brave now and a bit pushy already. He shoves his way right between us when a group is standing in the stall. We have decided to sell him when he is weaned and we will rebreed Fantasy for another mule as I would like to have a molly. I still have not found the perfect name for this great mule, I intend to make the most of all the time we have to spend with him.

tiffany I understand the selling but man he is way to cute, and what if the next one isn't a dolly? I love his coloring, I know it will or should change but he is so adorable.

Well we can only hope the next one will be a molly, but that is not the only reason for the sale there is the reason at this time and place we could really use the $$ he will bring in this year. I can take my fillies off the market, Wickee and Princess for 6 mths, they will both go to the trainer this spring and see which filly I want to keep and replace one of my older trail horses. The mule will be far easier to sell and I can wait another year for my own mule to arrive. maybe it will be a molly next time, which would be icing on the cake. I do not mind you posting his pic' on your blog JoanMRK ...I am honored you you think he is cute enough I will consider Bentley for name. I almost named him Frito' because he thinks he is all that and a bag of chips, but my daughter looked up the meaning of Frito and we decided against it. Portuguese (Brazil): frito done for, ruined, defeated or about to be killed etc

I am saying mules are selling easier then horses, the dun markings add zeros But not just that. Fernando is attractive in his conformation as well. It will be up to me to have him gentle and where his level training is at as a weanling only adds more zeros as well. Thanks for liking my name choice I wrote down 5 names, some you guys mentioned and went over them with my family, then we all agreed on Fernando.

I am so enjoying him and do not regret our decision to breed Fantasy for a mule. It is a whole other experience. Kiger Mustangs have this wonderful disposition that is hard to relate in words to folks until they meet thier first Kiger and this mule foal is so much differant then a horse foal it is amazing. It took me 10 min. yesterday to convince him we needed to leave the big pasture and the fasinating big water trough, it was time to follow his mom back to the stall. Putting a halter on him was walk up put the halter on, no big deal. Because he feels the need to be in your space, he has already learned that if you place your hand on the bridge of his nose and push back he will back off pressure. He just hasn't learn to stay back very long....LOL. I feel like I have been really blessed with a double dose of fun with this Kiger mule. I am very excited already for the next one come spring time 2009 and better times that I will be able to keep it as my own.

He is absolutely adorable, Tiffany!! I saw my first two Kiger mules back in 1999. The Kiger mare just hated this gals Kiger stud, but she just loved her little BLM burro and had two mule babies by him. The burros name was Milton...too cute....Milton Burro!! Are there any indications yet that little Fernando might turn grey? Hope not, he's so striking as a dun!! But a treasure either way! Kim

No indications that Fernando will grey at all. There are no white hairs around his eyes at all, he looks very much like his sister in coloring as a foal. Wickee as a foal...
