Mother Nature has sure shown her rath this week for the East. Last Friday brought unforseen, torrential downpours that resulted in several deaths in the Pittsburgh area. Severe thunderstorms took more lives in the wee hours of Thursday morning. An Earthquake on Tuesday, centered in VA was felt throughout PA,NY,OH, NJ and more. Now Hurricane Irene looms on the doorstep.
Just want to send thoughts and prayers to all on the Eastern Seaboard. My niece in Philadelphia said that projected rainfall could be as much as 15 inches in a 2 day period. I witnessed the destruction Hurricane Ivan had on PGH several years ago and can not imagine what 15 inches of rain could do, even on inland areas. This is vast horse country and it will be devastating. Thanks to social networking much assistance is being offered to move people and animals to safety. Please keep everyone out East in your thoughts.
