got this back from the owner. sigh.... yet another adopted Kiger that no one did anything with. What a shame, she looks like a nice mare.
<She was caught as a 2 year old and now is 8 or 9. She is freeze branded on her left side of the neck under her mane. After she was caught she and her "sister" who were caught at the same time were messed with and were lawn ornaments so no, she has never foaled. She is a lighter dun than most that you see. We got her from a friend who is the one on her adoption papers with the intention of starting her under saddle and then in the spring breeding her to my grullo quarter horse stallion for a good endurance bred foal, but with the price of hay this year and we have 30 horses, stand 5 stallions, we cannot keep up with the feed bill at 2 tons of hay per month. So we have some listed for sale to try to get us thru winter. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try to find her papers in the meantime.>>

Yea thats sad, nice looking mare. SO many of these out there...and there's just no market for anyone to take unhandled/trained horses in. Does not help the kiger breed either with so many untamed horses out there, we need more trained kigers!

i agree. Nice to look at but very disappointing that nothing has been done with her. I was thinking if someone is willing maybe they could train her and she could be the next raffle horse. Kigers like this girl deserve a chance. I wish I could do more. Just a thought.

Sorry!!!!! I sodidn't mean to do that. I just felt bad for her and all the others that are in the same situation. Good for you to try to do this it is an awesome thing. I hope more people will step up like you and try to do something. I wish i could but im at my limit and possibly over it but i hop in the future to open a kiger "rescue" for all the unwanted kigers, or those who are in need of a good home or rehab. Thank you for trying to help her
