Okay, this mare is due sometime in the next two weeks, and it may take me that long to post her pics. Help!! I have Photobucket and each time I try to add the link I get a string of code and no picture. Which link out of the 4 that I can see do I want?

How exciting she looks like a nice dun mare. Can you tell us more... like who is the daddy? what are your hopes for the foal? fily or colt? Where is Ginger from?

That's dad in the background in all his scruffiness. The mare is from the 1999 adoption - Riddle HMA and the sire is from the 2003 adoption - Riddle also. She has foaled before and comes thru with flying colors. I have two of her babies, one sired by Silverado and the other is a Doc Marten colt and she is going to be a grandma. My other mare is her daughter, bred to my stallion also. Probably his first and last foals.
Thanks for the help Tiffany.

Isn't it nice that these mares can manage so well? I like the withers and shoulder on your boy a lot. I'm always envious of withers LOL.

Our weather here is so "iffy" right now we get rain, snow and sun all in one day and the nights are down in the 20's. The only other foal born on our place came in mid-July, but with this one I want to get a foal blanket. Suggestions on size? The blankets online seem to run 28"-42" so I am guessing that one will work. My friend has a 35" foal blanket, but that sounds too big.
Ginger is starting to bag up and the last time she was very predictable, so we should be within a week of birth. Someone asked if we were hoping for a filly or a colt. I hope for a filly, I don't need another male around. Whichever sex we get it is for sale unless by some strange twist I get a grulla. That one I will keep and sell something else. We area trying to get a web camera set up in time for the birth. I will post any news.

A web camera would be awesome, do give us a link if and when you get it set up so we can sneak a peek at a foal watch.

I like the one on Calista's filly - a Polar Shield size small. She wiggled out of it once but we tightened the belly strap and its been good since. They come with different amounts of insulation. Its getting exciting!

It's a girl!!!! I checked Ginger about 1am and went to bed. By 6 am we had a filly on the ground. Mom and daughter are doing very well and Ginger did this to me two years ago - waiting till I went into the house and then foaling. She is a fawn color at the moment, no white anywhere, bi-colored mane and tail. She is curious and fiesty. She met the rest of the herd thru the fence for now.
