registries are kinda like politics, we will not agree with each other all the time. I have my Kigers registered with SMKR. My choice, for I know Rick is a good man. when I was in a tough spot, he understood let me pay off Riddle when I could . I will register my Kigers with Rick.we have bigger issues, like getting this breed recognized. Hang in there, Rick will get you your papers if that is what you want. Remember he does have another job on top of the registry.

George, the need to find one registry where the SMKR horses can accepted is key to the breed. DNA is unavailable to prove ancestry as Rick won't provide it. If the KMA had a clause for this it would unify the breed and more Kigers would be registered. Do you think the KMA would consider this? There are a lot of Kigers not being registered anywhere.

Dianne The KMA is working on a proposal to present to the Membership for a vote that may help the SMKR horses out should it be accepted in the near future.
We are also working on a DNA data base deal for the Kigers with UC Davis that will be announced if and when it is finalized.

The real worry I have is that UC Davis says Stormont's dna records were all destroyed when they went under. They said that Rick has copies. However I've not been able to get a copy of one of my horses that I bought from him and registered with him nor her sire, dam or grandam. I think Rick is worried that I'll registered her KMA, which is silly, she's already registered SMKR.
