Well one dream crossed off my "just once before I die" list... I rode a 6 yr old Puerto Rican Paso Fino stallion, named Milagro. His trainer, wants Bolero very badly, but is a vet student and price is an issue. He invited me ride the Paso Fino. The owner is a mutual friend and she had also invited me to ride with her.
I rode for about and hour in an indoor arena walked, trotted and cantered, and did the largo. I couldn't get him to corto, although Carlos had no problem at all. Had a blast! Unfortunately, as smooth as it was, it still hurt my back and hip. Left with siatic pain down both legs, and had charlie horses in my thighs. It was well worth it!

Pretty cool Linda. Paso's are very smooth but just too much go for me...They can sure cover some ground in a smooth hurry!!! So you cant ride at all? Are you trying to find a smoother horse to ride?
Im sure there are many who would love to have Bolero, he's pretty super!!!

Not looking for another horse. My Kiger mare is smooth, just my back has been a problem since my 20's and now I am old. I just have always wanted to ride a Paso Fino. Yes he had plenty of GO, but I like that! Largo was so fun. I am used to riding on a loose rein, and this horse needs contact on his mouth to collect him to do the corto, and it felt odd for me to make that much contact. His owner has the same problem. His trainer has no problem. I just didn't have the finesse, but if I could ride him more I'd get it. It was my first ride in 2.5 years.
Bolero is available to the right buyer with lots of talent. I have someone who I would love to have Bolero, who would show and exhibit himand stand him, but I cannot afford to give him away for what he can pay. Bolero has so much potential and I don't.

Linda:
How about doing a partial ownership with this other person.....You could draw up a contract and spell it all out in black and white....My daughter's old hunter/jumper trainer did it with her warmblood horses......I think her contract had everything in it from first right of refusal, to breeding, to showing/training....If this person would be great to have promote Bolero it could be a win-win for you both....

I think a lease is sometimes a great thing too!
