Linda...no problem!! Love Chicas' stripe. I think Maris' colt from this year, Troy, will be her color. He has a black stripe so far though. Poor guy - he has such a thick coat and when it got into the 90's a few weeks ago, he was really itchy and rubbing himself; hence the funny shedding!

I'll have to post some pics of my horse Ruger in his summer coat since he exhibits brindling and his herringbones really come out when he sheds out. Hopefully i'll get pics before he bleaches out LOL. Maybe we should start a thread for this discussion in the color genetics section?

Troy did a nice job getting rid of that itchy bum with insta-shedding rub.

Nesa is 319 days in foal today. Looking forward to a full sibling to Luna and Kahlua...what surprised color will we get this year?!

I believe Nesa is within 48 hours of foaling. Last night she was the only mare that was sweaty at 11pm and she was very quiet. I kept her in today - since she likes to be sneaky and foal outside! I was surprised she did not mind at all. Her first foal she had outside two weeks early about 3pm. Her next foal she had at 8pm inside, about a week early. Picts from this morning - that foal is in position now and her nitties are filling in. I would not be surprised if we get some wax today.

Hoorah! I suspect you wanted a colt, but I do love your fillies. Beautiful girl, that last shot should be on the cover of something, priceless!

Awww, she sure is a feminine little thing! I also love the butt shot before the filly; great pic of a dorsal stripe under all the fluff!!!!
Congrats Michelle!

Thanks guys...she is a pretty little thing. I know I am destined to provide the world with girls!! I am getting all full up on fillies and was thinking of starting some type of Breeders Incentive at some point. I just don't think there is much of a market for breeding stock right now; plus some of my Kigers are "the wrong colors"!!
I REALLY want to get Nesa bred to Gringo. She is shy to rebreed when she has a foal at her side and Gringo does have a lot of young boy antics before he gets the job done. I actually tried to breed him to Leza this year and she was like "are you kidding me?!" If Nesa is not receptive this year, I will give her a year off, then breed her next spring to him. Should be an awesome foal!

This is Kahlua at a day old - the new fillies full sister from last year. I can't decide whether to call the new one "Mocha" or "Deja Vous"! Kahlua:

Congratulations Michelle! Did she inherit some sootyness or what?! Look at that neck and shoulder and then around and under her eye!
