Smarty me, Ha ha, I finally think i figured out why she was reacting to the pasture in the first place. At least one of the weeds growing in the pasture I turned her out in didnt agree with her. We moved some cows and opened up the better pasture with very little weeds and she has had absolutely no problems with it the last few days. I only take her out there for like 20 min a day but so far so good. I would really like to be able to put her out full time durring the day about a week or so after the foal is born, give them both room to run (12 acres).

We had a brief thawand saw bare ground for the first time this winter, (we are still under snow and ice) and my daughter's miniature horse coliced and died right after. The only thing she suspects is that maybe he ate some of the newly uncovered weeds that grow very low to the ground that invaded her pasture last year. They wouldn't graze the area the weeds grew in last year. She is heart broken. Dusty was a fine little cart horse, and the first to give her a whinney every morning.

Aww, so sorry for you and your daughter's loss. That's so sad. Do you know what kind of weeds they were?
