Rex is a foundation stallion (KMA #0499W) that has been hand-raised since his birth on the ranch. This gentleman has been color coat tested and will throw duns or grullos with stunning Dun-Factor. Rex is a kind and gentle stallion and shows a willingness to please. He lives in a family setting with his mares and foals. It is rare that beauty, exquisite grace and conformation, nestle in the soul of one horse. 100% Dun Factor on all foals. Contact Flying D Ranch at 530-865-1584 if interested in breeding or foals. See classifieds soon for his progeny. [ ][/img][ ][/img][] [/img]

In 2003 we adopted Kiger Tempest (KMA#O409-W) and she was pregnant with Rex who was born on April 20, 2004. So he was born and raised on the ranch but we don't know who the sire was. His stunning dun-factor comes from the dam. Luckily we had been to the corrals a few days before the adoption and had seen the mare. On the day of the adoption she had been kicked in the hock and it was the size of a softball so there were only two bidders on her. We paid $325 for her and without the injury it would have been doubled at least. She has produced 4 colts, Rex, Kodiaks Kiger Kub grullo (HS Kiger Kodiak-sire), Spitphyre dun (Phynegan-sire), and Audyoats grullo (Neo-sire). All 4 colts have great dun factor. Rex has produced Phlair dun filly out of Kiger Kapri, a dun colt out of 4811, actually the colts name is 4812, and Rolex, a grullo colt out of Kiger Roo. Two more babies due this spring out of Kiger Roo and Kiger Kapri.
