Most of you know that we are getting ready to retire and will be selling most of our broodmares. We also have two geldings, a yearling and a weanling aviailable. We have great video showing how they move. If you are interested you can see the horses we have for sale by going to community.webshots.com/user/ied0c We are working together with Gin Reschke to train many of our horses under saddle. Cedar, Calista and Santana will be among the first to be trained. Cedar, 11 years old 14.2 hands out of Steens Kiger and Dakota, bred to Chinook for 2008 dun foal. Cedar is smart and sweet. Good family or trail horse. Calista 8 years old 15 hands out of Geronimo and Misty, bred to Chinook for 2008 grulla or dark grulla foal. Sweet and high energy, good trail horse. Santana 3 years old 16+ hands out of Chinook and Cricket, good dressage prospect

Smoke is such a great horse. I bought him in 2000 as an untouched three year old stallion. His dam, Stands with a Fist, was bred in the wild. I thought he was the funniest looking horse I had ever seen when I met him. Narrow head, narrow chest and really skinny. But oh, when he trotted around the round pen and arched that neck and did that wonderful trot I fell in love. So I had him gelded and gentled by Tom Moore. I had him started under saddle and attended a John Lyons certified clinic where he did great. I decided to let him grow up a bit more and get some weight on before starting him in training in 2001. Smoke was my main riding horse and we went to the 2003 KigerFest where he took Grand Champion Kiger Gelding and also first in our walk trot green horse class. In 2005 he had a slight injury, which he recovered from. But he needed to be on pasture where he could move 24/7 and not be in a stall so I sold him to a nice lady. They seemed ideal for each other for a while but then he started going down hill and having weakness in his back legs. I took him back so I could find out what was going on. He was our mystery horse and all the tests came back negative until finally we tested him for Cushings just this last August. He was only 10 so it was a surprise that his test came back just outside the normal range. The Pergolide has done wonders! After just two weeks he was back to his old self with great reach and impulsion from his back legs. His eyes were bright, his tail was up and his neck was arched as he showed off his recovery. I said "there's my missing horse!" Its been four months now that we've been watching and he's never looked back. He will need to continue on the daily medication for the rest of his life though. We're putting him in training to tune him back up and will be looking for a new home for him.

This guy can move in ways I've never seen another horse move. I can see why the Sorraia were used to herd the black cattle that produce the bulls for the ring. He is so agile. He loved to run in and out of the cones in the arena and could do it at the canter without changing leads. At the last cone I had to take him wide with a strong inside leg because if I didn't he would spin and land on the cone. When I first got him he was pretty spooky still. I took him out to a place where he could see a trail with runners and bicycles going by and asked him to move around me at the end of the lead. As he did he shied toward me and I stiffened my arm so he wouldn't step on me. From a full shy he stopped with his cheek just touching my fist. We were in a clinic and this little dog crawled under a board and got under foot. It had no sense at all. So while the clinician was talking to one of the student I pointed Smoke at the dog and said "Get him Smoke". We followed the dog everywhere it went. When the dog suddenly cut back to get away Smoke was right on him, so fast that I thought I wasn't going to stay on. The dog left.

This is Sedona, also bred to Chinook for 2008. Sedona is out of Doc Martin by Bell (Silverado and Quail). And this very charming fellow is Taos, out of Bravo and LadyRose. He's going to be about 16 hands and could do dressage easily. The girl is his new owner.

Taos is sold. I'm very tickled that a good friend is buying him so I'll get to watch him grow up. He's so like his dad, Bravo. Nothing flusters him and he follows me around the pasture looking for attention.

Keep me up to date on Bravo, my plans are still on with Firefly. I just need to get myself a job soon so I can move forward. Having lost my job definitely puts a damper on things!

Cool! I think they will make a great foal. No worries on him going anywhere. My friend would have my head if I even thought about selling him. She's been training him and I think I'm going to have trouble getting him back.
