Ooh , I want them both in my little herd . Not a Kiger , my guess is a Paso . But then again all of my guesses have been wrong so far

I'm thinking this is sooty buckskin, not dun so not Kiger. Nice wedge shaped head on the dam and she looks small to me. Long face on the foal. Not enough muscle to be QH, could be mustang or Morgan, I don't know Paso Finos very well.

We had a purebred QH filly at my vet tech school that looked nothing like a QH despite her grand champion sire. No apple butt or size or muscling. Yet, she had AQHA papers! Honestly, I thought she was a captive bred Mustang or some type of HOA reg. horse when I first saw her. Basically, I am guessing this horse is a more smoother muscled type of QH or a more foundation bred Morgan.

Okay...got everyone on this one! This is a Kiger mare, Dancer, by Steens Kiger and Kiger Calimity. That colt is by Charro. This was actually the colt that caused me to buy Charro sight unseen. In the spring and summer, you could see his stripes - he was a smokey chocolate color most other times.
I know the picts of the mare were not that great but it was all I could find.

There were a lot of brown horses at the last adoption. Could be she and they were brown dun instead of bay dun.

when I was talking to Ron ( rest his soul ) at the last adoption, he told me to keep an eye out for those brown horses as some of them had brindling.....

Another blast from the past photo I love these, that is a nice mare but with the angle of the photos and her color. I would not have guessed Kiger and the foal has a more pronounced head then what you see on the Kiger foals of today.

In horses I've heard that brindling is a form of chimera, two embryos combined.
