I am so excited about this!
I want to go no matter what, i have a brand new hores trailer that i got for x-mas and am so ready to go on this trip. I am just waiting for a offical date so i can ask for the time off....Aug would work for me.
I might even be able to get some of the crew from wild ones youth ranch to come along.
It wil be new for me i have never hauled my horese that far before or even driven over the pass before.
I think it would bee so fun to finally get to meet some of you !

This sounds like so much fun!!!! I would love to come. Is there a date set up yet? Our summers are pretty hectic but if I can, I'd love to bring Missy and meet everyone.

I am in touch with BLM/Burns to see about the what, who and when from their side so as soon as I have something definite, I will post it. For aanyone who is not familiar with the area, those of us who are will post info. If you plan to camp on the HMA, remember you will need to being everything and may not be able to have an open fire. Crystal Crane Hot Springs, The Narrows Campground and Diamond (Hotel Diamond) are on the internet so you can see what they have to offer. I do not believe any of these places have horse accomodations though.

I heard from BLM and we will be able to have the Rangeland Specialist for the Kiger HMA as our guest speaker and once we have dates set I will contact them to set definite plans. Keep in mind that the gather is in early to mid September, that July and August are typically hotter than June. The 2011 Wild Trail Horse Expo is July 22-24 here in the Bend area and there are a few of us who are planning to be there so if we can avoid that weekend that would be great. I hope we have a good turnout. I've been waiting years to ride that land and I'm excited. If it is easier to pick say three dates and vote, we can do a poll on here. Do we have a date location for Kigerfest 2011 yet?
