I'm hoping to get a long ride going next summer through eastern Oregon. Trying now to research possible routes. I'm thinking of starting down near Ione, heading up to Ukiah, then towards John Day and into Burns.
From there (after about 5 days off, cuz we'll need showers to wash the stink off and of course we'll want to visit the corrals or wild herds), west towards Prineville, and not sure if we'll continue through Madras or cut back over again towards Dayville.
Anyone else interested in the ride? Anyone know the area well enough (Jillian?) to offer hints on the best routes?

that sounds like fun or what about the Pacific crest trail? has anyone ridden that one?

Back in 2000 there was a group of 36 women from all over the Northwest that did a week long ride on part of the Barlow Trail in the Mount Hood area -- We had a great time! There were 6 of us from Idaho that went.... in fact - that's what the trailboss and her assistants called our group - Idaho. If you get something like you are talking about put together.. You will have a blast!

We're going to try to squeeze in a few shorter trips towards the end of this summer, 2-3 days, maybe a week. A lot will depend on how Firecracker comes along with training this spring. The trip through Oregon should take about 6 weeks  |

That sounds like a whole lot of fun! I however will not be planning on another trip from Texas to Oregon, the last one was a killer! Maybe some of us in Texas could put a ride together too.

We say that just about every summer. lol But I can't wait to come back. I'm going crazy up here in the cold. It's snowing again now, we're supposed to get up to six inches tonight. Ugh!
