I'm going to have to guess that this lovely horse is a galiceno. He looks a little to thick everywhere to be a kiger.

Very big boned and definitely got the hair gene! Some kind of sport pony maybe?? Grullas and duns are common in highland ponies.

I like this horse , not a Kiger I think . If I keep guessing a Sorraia , I might be right some day , just kidding .
I think it's a Dullmer pony.

I don't think kiger, but other than that, I have no idea.

This horse reminds of that Friesan cross that was grulla, it's photo went around awhile back. I am not sure it is the same horse, but if memory serves me right (sometimes it plays tricks on me ;D) that horse had a lovely bi-colored mane and tail.

beauba...you should have stuck with Sorraia this time!!! This horse was show cased at the big Iberian horse fair in Portugal, Golega. They had a lot of the Sorraias there. Nice looking, but very pony-ish and thick.

YES!!! Got another one right!! WOOT! Michelle, you might like this post I made on another board on the Sorraia: "Some of the Sorraias are nice. Some lack Iberian type (the grulla you pictures doesn't have Iberian ears. The ears are suppose to have a round rim. He has straight and he looks more pony in the face. He also appears to lack the basic feature of having a broad forehead). On the Portuguese site it is the same thing. The mare that they used for the main page with Dr. d'Andrade lacks Iberian type from the head to the hip! Hopefully, people will be able to breed them right and get more consistent type. I like the grulla stallion in the video that you linked except that he appears to lack a nice nip. I may be wrong as the angles are a bit poor, but from the video he looks front heavy. Perhaps to get better genetic diversity in the Sorraia they should continue to use Argentine Criollos that are solid duns and grullas that display the ideal Sorraia type. They used Tato Dios Cardal at the beginning of this Portuguese breed, see no reason why they should stop! Especially in order to save them. Get a fresh dose of Argentine Criollo! ... (edited for relatedness)" IMO Sorraias are just as pure Spanish as any other Iberian breed. All Iberian horses show off type as there is no such thing as a truly pure Spanish horse. Pic of grulla I was talking about
