Funny how the dun gene seems to repress white.

Forgot to mention the thoroughbred mare has a good size white spot on her belly.

Fun to see a kiger/TB cross! Do you have any video of her moving around? Secretariat was a great broodmare sire. It was super hard to get a daughter out of Secretariat without shelling out some serious money regardless of what the mare actually did or looked like. Granddaughters are pretty popular too, but people have a better reality check and they look at the "whole" horse.

Picaro is also a TB/Kiger cross. His dam is as bay as it gets, and her dam was bay, and her sire chestnut. No flashy colors on that side. Picaro's sire is Tesoro, and he's a dun. And Picaro came out dun with very bold markings. He's got a big fat stripe down his back, heavy leg striping, arm bars, and the curved and black tipped ears. I'm hoping that means Tesoro will pass on his color most of the time! I need to have him color tested. I need to bug Tasha for some new pics of the P-man!

I know a Kiger that looked kind of like this, couldn't quite decide between grulla and dun. They called him coyote dun. It would be interesting to see him at different times of year.
