He may not be through changing color yet! That's pretty wild. I didn't see anything like him on the champagne sites but it does interact in interesting ways with other color genes.

I know nothing about color genetics, but the caption says the Mom is cremello-- there is a sire in the pedigree with Champagne in his name... The foal reminds me of the chocolate palominos, yet more black/grey???

Wowza what a dramatic coat color change! My guess would have to be a dark chocolate palomino and maybe a silver dapple gene as well. His pedigree does say his dam is a cremello but it is possible that at the time she was registered the champagne gene wasn't recognized in that association. Very cool pics though!
