That is so great and Mckenna is one lucky girl ;D to have such a wonderful Kiger Mustang in Sombra that was trained by Melissa.

She really is one lucky girl! She has a dream horse that can take her anywhere.

McKenna is one lucky little girl, yes. But Sombra is one lucky Kiger Mustang too! To be owned and loved by such a natural young horsewoman is the ideal. McKenna's timing, quiet hands and use of seat at such a young age is impressive. What a great partnership!

Sombra and McKenna are doing just fine. Elly and Reed have been with him at the Iveys' new stable now for a month or two preparing for the Equine Affaire demo in April. Sombra is very happy to have the other Kigers there, and he is especially pleased to have Reed with him. Reed is showing everyone the results of Melissas' many years of excellent handling, and Elly has the Iveys convinced that she understands every word they say. Needless to say, the Kigers have taken over the Iveys' stable. I hope Dawn comes on here soon and updates all of us on the progress the young drill team is making in preparation for Equine Affaire.

Nice article, thanks for pointing it out Tiffany. Willingness was always the thing that made Sombra a cut above according to Melissa and that article. Nice to see that his willingness and heart has been tansformed to a special young lady named McKenna. Look forward to seeing them at EQ next month. Bill. will you be around the BLM booth? I plan to be there on Friday. Hope to meet up with you.

Karen,
I will be at EA Thursday and Friday. If I am not at the BLM booth, I may be at the Ohio Horsemens' Council booth. I am sure we will find one another. I think McKenna and Sombra will be there all the time, and they will put on a demo at the Youth show on Saturday too.

Bet he's got the smoothest rocking canter in the world with that little one on him! She's really doing so well for her age! Not many five year olds have that good balance and soft hands.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought anyone would cover up a freezebrand - I guess I've thought of it as a mark of prestige...

His freezebrand is visible, its on the near side of his neck not the off side where is mane is.

The freezebrand is definitely there, I forgot to get a close up of it while I was there.
