Is it difficult to bring a horse from Canada to the United States?

I sold one to Canada, you just have to ask your vet what's needed and make sure they get it done up there. There was a duty on the price of the horse as well.

If she can't sell her horses for a $1000 each, I wonder what she can hope for at auction? Aren't they in even more danger of being sold for slaughter in Canada, than here?

Might just do it out of spite. That happened to four very valuable Sulphur horses about over a decade ago. Even though people showed interest, the price that he wanted wasn't met so he took them to auction out of spite. I am sure that the people in France and Japan had no idea what a rare piece of horse flesh that they were eating. So depressing!

Not all horsemeat goes for human consumption...most likely somebodys' dog did not realize "what a rare piece of horse flesh" they were snarfing down.

I don't really care where it went, it is still a huge loss to a breed who is on the verge of extinction. The Spanish type Sulphur has about maybe (probably less) than a 1/4 of the Kiger Mustang population. If the Spanish type Sulphur dies off, then the very last remnant of that very special and unique population of the famous horses of the California vaquero will be GONE. California's Spanish horse breed will be extinct! The only thing that we will have left are the old paintings of the grulla and zebra dun (rarely other colors such as black, bay, or chestnut) vaquero horses and photos and video of their descendants that are now known as Spanish type Sulphurs.

I asked for a sales list from the owner:
The 1st & 2nd pic is an 8 year old Kiger mare, she's $1000. The 3rd pic is sold. The 4th pic is a blue roan, yearling Nokota. She's $1000 without papers or $2000 with papers. The 5th & 1st pic is a 6 month old Kiger colt out of the grey mare, who's turning claybank colour, he's $500. The last pic is a 6 year old gorgeous Palomino QH mare who's just been started. She's $1000 without papers or $2000 with papers. I am guessing she is referring to the photos on the add. The grey does not look like a Kiger to me...neither does the foal. No papers are mentioned on them anyway, so who knows.
