After being two years behind schedule, Fit and I have begun our riding relationship. Finances kept me from sending him to a trainer to put under saddle until recently. The trainer said with as much trouble as Fit gave him, I could have ridden him myself without incident if I had followed the steps. Honestly, he tried to find things that bothered Fit and they were hard to find. We have many miles to go yet, but we are working hard on becoming a team. He does better in a bosal than a bit so I need to shop for a different bit. He stands like a statue for mounting from both sides and we taught him to stand next to anything tall enough to assist me. My bad knee is so unstable it doesn't have many ground mounts left in it. Here are a couple of pics of us working on some trail obstacles. I am noticing a smile on my face more and more now as I rediscover my skills. It is FUN!!!!!! I want to ride all day as we did as kids. Darn job keeps interfering.

You look great together! Also, your post was really helpful to me - I've been worried about mounting my horse (when I get her from the trainer) because of my bad knee. It never occurred to me to train her to move up to something so I didn't have to try it from the ground.
