There is no such thing as a perfectly built horse Jackie. The goal of every breeder though is to try to get at least an almost perfect horse for their breed! Victoria's neck could be a touch longer and placed a bit more higher on her shoulder. I also hate that dip in front of her neck... Her hip could be a bit longer to match her shoulder length. I am hoping that Pueblo corrects these faults on the resulting foal. Should be a really typey Spanish type Sulphur that is very hot, bold, and yet obedient and sensitive to his handler. The foal will likely mature to the average Spanish type Sulphur height of 14.2HH. Victoria is 14.3HH (I measure her with a show stick on concrete) and Pueblo is about an inch shorter so he is 14.2HH. I can't wait for the day that I will have the job and money to be able to buy my ranch and set up a real breeding program for the Spanish type Sulphur! There are about 10 Spanish type Sulphurs that I would like to buy and/or lease if their owners dont want to part with them. *FRUSTRATED!!*

That will be awesome! I still can't see the dip in Victoria's neck. I'll look at the pictures and videos again. I guess its a good thing that I'm not a breeder, because she looks so perfect to me. I can hardly wait to see pictures of her foal. I guess that's why breeders have to be so particular about the stallions - they can pass on a lot to a lot of mares...

Oh, you will understand type in no time if you keep asking questions! I recommend that you buy Dr. Deb Bennett's three book series on conformation as well as Juan Llamas' This is the Spanish Horse. Both of those author's will give you an idea of what to look for in ideal riding conformation for a horse as well as what is true Spanish type. There are other books that you could also buy (that you can get later as getting ideas from different people and what they like will help you overall), but the ones I listed would be the cremé del la cremé (I think I spelled that right?? haha I am better at German!) and the best place to start. When you want to breed your mare, be sure to send me current pictures of her and video so that I can really see her type (as well as having her properly measured with a show stick on a flat, hard surface to see how tall she really is) so that I can think of a stallion for you to breed her to that would best compliment her. I will be sure to send you photos of Victoria's foal in 7 months and keep you up to date as to what he/she looks like! If you are ever in the southern California area, don't hesitate to contact me and I can give you a tour of different places that I know has Sulphurs.

She is very pretty! Cannot wait till the babies are born to see pics:) We have one due soon, she is not a kiger. She is a reg pinto (solid) that is bred to a reg gypsy vanner stallion. My hubby has always wanted a gypsy for himself but they are so expensive. So bought a mare in foal for a much smaller price. She is due between April 1st and June. Though thinking sooner than later with the way her udder's are looking. She is a maiden so crossing my fingers all goes well:) Not the best pic of her but all I have today:)

I am so looking forward to all the fun coat color possibilities! I wonder if the foals will take after their mother or father. Some stallions really stamp their foals, but I know quite a few mares that make a carbon copy of themselves.
