We're having fun with our Kiger Cruiser. He's the whole package...great mind, movement and body. I must thank Sarah B. for visiting our farm and taking great photos! Cruiser is 2-years-old and a delight to work with. He is destined for dressage and I believe will be a strong representation of the Kiger breed in competition. To view more photos, please visit the Kiger page on our Hilltop Farm of Oregon website. Thanks again to Sarah. hilltopfarm-oregon.com/kigers-Gin

Cruiser is out of Chinook and LadyRose. The very first day my gelding, Smoke, decided he did not like Cruiser and started going after him with hears back. I think he must have smelled like Chinook and Smoke was always very jealous of Chinny. I was so glad LadyRose was an experienced mare and she was very good at protecting Cruiser, really good at running and kicking at the same time! It was quite a circus in a six acre pasture until we captured Smoke and got him out of there. Through it all Cruiser moved with such elegance and grace that he earned his name on the spot. It was a couple months before LadyRose would let anyone touch Cruiser. But his natural curiosity and friendliness caused him to eventually ignore his dam's alarms and he became quite the sweetheart. He and Mojito were best buds and spent all day every day playing together. I was so thrilled to have sold him to Gin, knowing what a great home it would be and what wonderful training he'd receive. She's really very good and I have no doubts that she's going to do well with him in dressage.

Thanks for the compliments on our fancy boy. He measures 15.1 as a young 2 y.o. so we expect him to mature 16 hands. Cruiser is the Andalusian-type of Kiger I prefer. (LadyRose and Chinook are amazing...thanks Dianne for a fabulous breeding!) His temperament is kind and people-pleasing. He learns quickly and retains his lessons. I like responsive, sensitive horses with brio and elastic movement. Cruiser easily moves from a standstill to a canter without lifting his head. He fits right in with our Lusitanos, although he's not quite as brave. Cruiser is the Kiger I've always wanted...He is stunning. I also personally really like his dark dun color. It's unique, sort of like a copper-tinted bay with a dorsal. He's quite the charmer....I am so delighted with him. And I can't wait to ride him next year! :-)

Isn't Lady Rose now with Kevin and Lisa? We may be seeing more from her in the future. I agree DianneC has some very fine Kiger Mustangs and anyone is lucky to purchase one of her horses. I am so happy to see them moving on and into such productive homes.

Yes, We have Lady Rose now and she is bred to Lui for a May 2011 foal. Cruiser is a beautiful horse and I hope to be so lucky. He did get her pretty head.
